Iphone Touch that is.
For a while, I’ve been struggling to sort out the simple things when it comes to the iPhone. Specifically – sync between Mac, Google Apps and iPhone. This, is pretty straight forward. Now, let’s look at another challenge. A windows/outlook client as well and get them all to sync at the same time.
Enter several solutions.
Google Calendar Sync. Great – for one calendar. Works well between google and outlook. Sucks for everything else.
Google calendar and iCal will directly sync. Yep! This works with a minimum of fuss and is pretty straight forward to set up. Open iCal, paste the google calendar URL in, enter user name and password – all good.
iCal to iPhone – no brain-er. Follow the sync wizard through iTunes. The rest is simple.
iCal to iPhone real time – Mobile- a little flaky – me. – Again, follow the wizard.
Google calendar on the iPhone – as long as you don’t mind being permanently connected to google via your telco calendar – no problem.
Of course, we can always do things like this – iCal to google calendar to outlook to mobile me .. and yeah well. That’s just complicated.
Has anyone built an app that will hook google calendar straight onto an iPhone – preferably into iCal?
If so, let me know.
It’s pretty “touch” sometimes.
